European Money Week 2020 – Third National Competition EMQ 2020 – Greece
The Hellenic Bank Association (HBA) participated for a sixth consecutive year with relevant activities in the "European Money Week" of the European Banking Federation (EBF).
In this context, the third National Competition for the European Money Quiz was successfully completed on June 3rd, 2020.

The Hellenic Bank Association informs card holders on the extension of implementation of increased limit for contactless card payments without the use of PIN
Following the HBA announcement of 26th March 2020, HBA member-banks, consistent to their commitment for continuous assistance in limiting the impact of COVID-19 on public health and trading practice, will maintain until Wednesday, 30th September 2020 the limit of contactless card transactions without the use of PIN at the level of 50 euros.

Information and awareness on “SIM Swapping” fraud typology
The use of a mobile phone number as one of the main and basic elements for strong and reliable identification of its owner/subscriber, is an international practice used by organizations, companies and public sector for the services they offer.
Banks are no exception to this practice, since they send through their customers' mobile phone number one time passwords (OTP) which enhance security of electronic transactions (money transfers, purchases via cards etc.), security alerts for executed transactions and remote signing up for new services.

The Hellenic Bank Association informs card holders on the increase of limit for contactless card payments without the use of PIN
HBA member-banks, consistent to their commitment for continuous assistance in limiting the impact of Covid-19 on public health and trading practice, will increase, as of Monday 30th March and up until Sunday 31st May 2020 the limit of contactless card transactions without the use of PIN at the level of €50, instead of €25 valid until today.
