The Hellenic Bank Association informs all card holders on the extension of implementation for contactless payments up to 50 euros without the use of PIN until 31st December 2020

Following the HBA announcement dated 19th May 2020, its member banks, being consistent with their commitment for continuous assistance in limiting the impact of COVID-19 on public health and trading practice, will preserve until Thursday 31st December 2020 the contactless payment limit up to 50 euros without the use of PIN.

Greek banks declare their support to enterprises and households affected by the recent extreme weather conditions (phenomenon IANOS)

Following the measures adopted by the Greek Government for the support of enterprises and households directly affected by the recent extreme weather phenomenon “IANOS”, HBA member-banks have also declared their support to the aforementioned groups.

Banks are temporarily suspending auctions of primary residence for vulnerable borrowers

HBA member-banks, consistent with their commitment to support the Greek economy during the COVID 19 crisis, have so far, and by the end of 2020 made, extensive debt suspensions for a significant number of borrowers.

At the same time, Greek banks support the inclusion of borrowers, who have granted their primary residence as a collateral for their loan contract, in the GEFYRA program of law 4714/2020 and encourage beneficiaries to apply accordingly.

Greek banks stand by businesses and households affected by Evia floods

The Hellenic Bank Association announces that its members-banks are ready to assist households and businesses in Evia regions, affected by the recent natural disaster.  Greek banks intend to provide facilitations to all citizens of said region, in order to help them overcome the difficult situation they are currently going through.

The Hellenic Bank Association informs banking clientele about physical transactions that will not be effected in bank branches as of August 4th 2020, following the Ministerial Decision D1a/EC. 48002/2020 on 'implementation of the measure for the compulsory use of non-medical mask in commercial enterprises, office spaces and other public gathering areas throughout the Greek territory, in order to limit the dispersion of COVID-19'

The alarming increase of Covid-19 cases in July 2020 led to the legislative introduction of the mandatory use of non-medical masks by employees and consumers, together with the implementation/adoption of additional restrictive measures. HBA member-banks, in an effort to fully integrate these new measures (as per Ministerial Decision D1a/EC. 48002/2020), and aiming in safeguarding the health of banking employees and the banking clientele, notify/announce that as of Tuesday 4th August 2020, and until further notice, following transactions will not be effected, with physical presence, in any bank branch:
